An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Espoo, Finland. This is a senior commercial role with full responsibility for cost control, procurement strategy, subcontract management, and client-facing commercial activities on a large, complex MEP-led project.

 

Working as part of a high-performing site-based commercial team, you will take ownership of multiple subcontract packages and provide strategic commercial input to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements.
 

The role offers long-term project security, exposure to technically complex mission-critical construction, and a clear path for career progression within a rapidly growing European data centre delivery business.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full commercial responsibility for assigned work packages from pre-award through to final account
  • Measure and value works from drawings, specifications, and site records, applying appropriate rates and commercial strategies
  • Lead procurement activities, including tender analysis, subcontract negotiation, and contract award
  • Manage and maintain the project budget in line with direction from the Project Director
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cash flows in accordance with internal procedures
  • Administer subcontractor accounts, including interim valuations, change management, and final account agreement
  • Manage client commercial communications and attend monthly commercial and progress meetings
  • Identify, prepare, and submit claims, variations, and contractual notices in line with contract provisions
  • Proactively manage cost risk, value engineering opportunities, and commercial exposure
  • Resolve commercial issues and disputes with clients and subcontractors in a professional and timely manner
  • Support and mentor junior commercial staff as required
  • Ensure all commercial documentation is accurately maintained and auditable

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • 8+ years’ experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or equivalent role
  • Strong background in large-scale construction projects (data centres, MEP, industrial, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical projects preferred)
  • Proven experience managing multiple subcontract packages and complex cost structures
  • Excellent knowledge of contract administration and change control processes
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence project outcomes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organised with strong analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Previous data centre project experience is highly advantageous but not essential
